Sai Ya Suttho Nashto Kare Chadyay!

This must be probably the first Sindhi Business man of my Life who was absolutely stubborn about not taking money from me for the food he served. I don't understand, how can one eat such a heavy food snack for breakfast. I mean it is so so so so so heavy and using of Palmolein is glorified. Yet, you will find the snack is sold out by 10 am at most. The dal is truly delicious. Jaikishan Hirani, rockstar introduced me here, and I am sure he would have ensured they keep a copy of the article framed. In Sardarnagar, New Kailash Nashta house, worth driving down in the morning.

Shantaben, MBA,PP & Gujarati Snacks (Hon)

Shantaben took over after her husband could not work. And how, she not only created a brand out of her own Paani Puris, she actually can beat any MBA with her simple earthy logic and process. Now, her son takes care of her brand and manages to do a great job. And the best part of their emotion is that each and every one member of their family is thankful to Shantaben's elder daughter who did not marry only so that Shantaben could continue working and her other siblings could study and make a living. Great people are made of great stuff. Do check out their shop now.

Small Idli Big heart @ Idli Char Rasta

Man was Shiva scared talking to me! Did you know there is actually a Idli Cross Road in Ahmedabad near the Maninagar Station? And that most of those folks are off shoot of Shiva's family. And that Shiva was inspired by his parents to take to catering. And yes, they still retain the authentic charm and price of eating a south Indian snack morning to night. Mind you, Shiva says, if I don't shut shop, people will still keep coming. Such is the power of the snack he provides.

The Eggcellent Meal Guy

His Father was a rockstar who struggled through from omelette to pau bhaji to a peaceful separation with his brother. Now, the prodigal son takes over and invents recipes. He speaks to customers who give him ideas, taste the stuff and finally becomes his recipe.

Ask him everything and he will answer, but don't you dare ask him his real name. He will NOT tell you.

Check him out anytime. He rocks.

Theplas with a Youthful Twist

Theplas always deserved the Twist. And these youngsters have got it right. I feel it is a matter of time before this quintessential long travel snack becomes a Vada pau kind of snack on the streets of Gujarat. These kids, three friends have stuck it out together and going all out to prove to their parents that they too can win.
All the best guys, your spirit will surely rock. Hope you become the Thepla Kings of the World.
